With the start of production of the Última Edición on 10 July 2003, Volkswagen de México in Puebla marked the end of production of the legendary Beetle.
The last Beetle rolled off the production line on 30 July 2003 and is now on display in the Zeithaus at Autostadt Wolfsburg.
A total of 3,000 of the Última Edición (UE) special edition cars were built in Aquarius Blue (1,500 units) with grey and Harvest Moon Beige (1,500 units) with black interior. The Beetle is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine with an output of 37 KW (50 PS).
In addition to the special colours 'Aquarius Blue' and 'Harvest Moon Beige', the UE Beetles differ from the standard models in the following ways:

Of the 3000 Última Edición Beetles built, around 450 to 500 were exported to Europe. These Beetles are considered collector's items and are rarely seen on the road. The owners cherish and take care of their 'darlings' and it is always a special sight to see them in large numbers at meetings and events organised by the K-UE Club. In total, 21,529,464 Beetles have been built worldwide.
