Trip to Taxco
Our club members Rosalva and Harald Blüthgen and their daughter Sarah, who currently live in Mexico, visited the Mexican town of Taxco during Christmas week 2018. During their visit, they have seen many Beetle-Car-Taxis and also took them several times for transportation.
The town of Taxco is known as the Silver City and may be one of the last towns in Mexico who have still running many “Beetle-Cars” as taxis.
Probably because of the narrow and steep roads and alleys in which this car manages and feels comfortable. Its practical dimensions and the rear wheel drive are ideal crawling up and down the roads easily without any problems.
The right front seat of the “Beetles” was removed; just as one knows it from the taxis in Mexico City. But in the capital city “Beetles” have largely disappeared.
